(RepublicanPress.org) – The Kiel Institute for the World Economy in Germany has been tracking global aid to Ukraine since just before the start of the war. According to the data, the United States has far surpassed any other country in military, humanitarian, and financial assistance — and the US isn’t done. Recently, the federal government approved another colossal package that will give long-term aid to Ukraine.
On July 19, the US Department of Defense (DoD) announced that America would give the warring nation $1.3 billion in additional aid. The package includes multiple National Advanced Surface-to-Air Missile Systems (NASAMS) with munitions, mine-clearing equipment, missiles, artillery rounds, warfare detection equipment, communications systems, fuel trucks, and security equipment.

The DoD said the package is part of the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative (USAI) and represents the continued US commitment to supporting Ukraine in both the near and long term. In addition, the department said America will continue coordinating with its Allies to provide Ukraine with the means it needs to succeed in the war against Russia.
According to The Epoch Times, the equipment could take a year or two to arrive in Ukraine, making it unclear whether or not the package will help with the conflict at all. Instead, this particular assistance will help Ukraine defend itself in the future. The outlet said the US had given over $40 billion to Ukraine in military aid since 2022 — including the most recent package.
The announcement comes on the heels of more aid to Ukraine from the United States. On the same day, US Agency for International Development (USAID) Administrator Samatha Power announced the organization was working with Congress to secure $230 million to help Ukraine with its economy and reconstruction. The New York Times reported that USAID committed $250 million to help farmers in Ukraine on top of $500 million for humanitarian aid the previous day.
