(RepublicanPress.org) – It’s been more than 14 years since J.K. Rowling published the 7th, and final volume, of her beloved Harry Potter novels, and 20 years since the release of the first blockbuster film. However, that hasn’t stopped a British woman from setting the record for Harry Potter collectibles.
On April 3, 2021, 47-year-old New South Wales resident Tracey Nicol-Lewis set the Guinness World Record for the most extensive collection of Harry Potter memorabilia with more than 5,200 pieces. She also holds the record for the largest Wizarding World menagerie.
Nicol-Lewis’ collection includes magic wands, artwork, LEGO sets, and special-edition books. She purchased her first item, a chocolate frog, after watching “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone” in 2002. Since then, the avid collector’s memorabilia has taken up three whole rooms in her house.
In 2020, she wore a Gryffindor red and gold dress featuring Deathly Hallows symbols at her Florida wedding. Martin, her husband, says he doesn’t share her passion for collecting Harry Potter items. Nevertheless, he’s proud of her collection, and he’s the one who came up with the idea of contacting Guinness World Records.
Sure, we all have things we love, and with the rise of social media, conventions, and merchandising contracts, people can get carried away with their pursuit of fandom. Still, it’s hard to imagine owning a collection that big, isn’t it?
