(RepublicanPress.org) – At long last, internet users have an alternative to Twitter. Parler’s recent rise in popularity in the wake of the highly disputed 2020 presidential election results highlights conservative dissatisfaction with big-tech companies. Since the election, Twitter has waged an all-out war on conservative voices, posting warning notices on numerous posts, including President Donald Trump’s.
Founded in 2018, Parler promotes itself as a safe-haven for free speech. Mainstream media giant The Washington Post (WaPo) attempted to use its First Amendment-friendly policies against it in a recent article. However, The Federalist quickly stepped in and pointed out the inaccuracy of that reporting.
Twitter And Parler Have Similar Porn Policies, But WaPo Targeted The Free Speech Sitehttps://t.co/6sMiGi9HME

In short, WaPo tried to smear Parler’s reputation accusing it of becoming a haven for explicit content due to its “lax moderation policies.” There’s only one problem. As The Federalist explained, there’s no significant difference between Parler and Twitter’s policies governing sensitive content.
Chief Operating Officer Jeffrey Wernick for Parler also pushed back against WaPo’s report, calling it “demonizing” and filled with half-truths. As Wernick concluded, WaPo attempted to vilify Parler because their platform provides a place for ideas outside those promoted by leftist media organizations.
