(RepublicanPress.org) – Florida was a potential battleground state in the 2020 presidential election. In September, former New York mayor Mike Bloomberg pledged to spend at least $100 million to help Democratic presidential hopeful Joe Biden win there. Those expectations didn’t pan out.
As it turned out, Florida’s presidential race turned out to be more of a minor skirmish than a battle with President Donald Trump handily winning the state by a few percentage points.

Perhaps the real story in Florida was Biden’s horrible showing in Miami-Dade, Florida’s largest county by population. Throughout the night, figures showed Biden performing much worse in the county than Hillary Clinton did in 2016.
With 29 Electoral College votes at stake, Trump’s Florida win represents a significant victory for the president. It also serves as a possible indication of where the vote tally could end up in states not yet called.
