(RepublicanPress.org) – The state of America’s foreign policy hasn’t been the same since Joe Biden assumed office less than three months ago. Iran continues advancing its nuclear program while refusing to come to the table to renegotiate a new nuclear deal. North Korea recently started testing ballistic missile systems. Now, tensions with Russia are rapidly approaching the point of no return in the European theater.
Secretary of State Antony Blinken discussed the recent deterioration between the United States and Russia during an appearance on NBC’s “Meet the Press” on Sunday, April 11. He told host Chuck Todd he had “real concerns” about the recent build-up of Russian troops along Ukraine’s border.
According to Blinken, Russian troop strength has reached its highest level since it annexed neighboring Crimea in 2014. Continuing, he said there would be real consequences if Russia “acts recklessly.”
Perhaps he’s telling the truth. Blinken’s interview followed recent reports that the United States is sending two warships to the Black Sea, which lies between Ukraine and Turkey. Let’s hope so because, so far, Biden has not scored any foreign policy victories, nor does he seem particularly interested in Donald Trump’s “America First” approach to diplomacy.
