(RepublicanPress.org) – A total of 44 Republican senators voted against continuing the Democratic-led impeachment trial. The vote occurred after four hours of debate about the constitutionality of impeaching Donald Trump weeks after his departure from office. One senator called the situation for what it is.
Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) blasted the Democrats’ kangaroo court, calling it “political theater” during an interview with Fox News host Sean Hannity on Tuesday, February 9.
Democrats want a week of political theater raging at Donald Trump instead of focusing on reopening schools or getting millions of Americans back to work. pic.twitter.com/6HYid1hrmk

Cruz said the Senate trial reminded him of a Shakespeare production — “full of sound and fury,” but containing nothing of substance. Democrats will spend a lot of time pounding on lecterns while ranting about morality. But, none of that will make any difference in the end. It takes 67 votes to convict Trump, and as Cruz emphatically stated, “that’s not going to happen.”
As Cruz told Hannity, it’s a pity Democrats would rather engage in raging at Trump instead of focusing on getting the country’s children back to work and addressing the concerns of millions of unemployed Americans.
