Researchers Make New Jeffrey Epstein Discovery

( – Convicted pedophile billionaire Jeffrey Epstein continues to draw explosive headlines nearly two years after his apparent suicide in a Manhattan jail while awaiting trial on new charges. Federal authorities have held his former girlfriend and alleged partner in crime, Ghislaine Maxwell, in detention since her July 2020 arrest. New research shows she met him earlier than originally thought.

Researchers working on a new three-hour documentary series discovered that Maxwell started associating with Epstein in the late 1980s. It had previously been believed that she didn’t meet him until shortly after the 1991 death of her father, media tycoon and former member of British Parliament Robert Maxwell.

Emma Cooper, the executive producer of “Ghislaine Maxwell: Epstein’s Shadow”, said researchers were able to cross-reference interviews and court records to trace Epstein and Maxwell’s connection. However, they could not pinpoint an exact date when they may have met and when their romantic relationship began.

The three-part documentary series premiered in the United States on June 24 on the NBC/Universal streaming service Peacock, and in the United Kingdom on Sky Documentaries on June 28.

It remains unclear what, if any, implications these revelations may have on Maxwell’s upcoming trial for her role in finding and grooming underaged victims for Epstein. Jury selection for her trial is scheduled to take place in November 2021.
