Republican Leaves Congress to Join Trump's Company

( – Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA) has served the people of California’s 22nd Congressional District in the US House of Representatives since 2003. The Presidential Medal of Freedom recipient and ranking member of the Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence recently announced his decision to leave Congress by the end of the year to join former President Donald Trump’s new media company.

On December 6, Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG) issued a press release announcing Nunes’ departure from Congress. According to the statement, Nunes would take over as TMTG’s Chief Executive Officer beginning in January 2022.

Trump, TMTG’s chairman, called Nunes “leader” and a “fighter” who would make an outstanding CEO. The former president explained that Nunes understands the looming threat posed by liberal media outlets and Big Tech companies working overtime to destroy the very freedoms that make America a great nation.

Trump concluded his remarks, noting the country is ready for his upcoming TRUTH Social platform and the end of political discrimination and arbitrary censorship.

Nunes echoed those remarks, adding that the time has come to liberate the internet from its current constraints and provide a space for the free flow of information and ideas without the impending threat of censorship.

Ally and fellow Trump supporter, Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH), posted an inspiring tweet regarding the news and praising Nunes’ successful service to the nation.

TMTG hasn’t announced an official launch date for TRUTH Social yet.
