(RepublicanPress.org) – An Associated Press (AP) investigation uncovered serious issues within the US armed services. According to the newspaper, some lost or stolen United States firearms are falling into the hands of violent criminals.
On June 15, the AP published a series of three bombshell articles detailing their findings. A review of records covering the Air Force, Army, Marine Corps, and Navy revealed that at least 1,900 military weapons were either lost or stolen over the period of a decade starting in 2010.
US military guns keep vanishing, some used in street crimes.

Those records showed a wide array of weapons disappeared from supply warehouses, armories, and other military facilities. Those weapons included automatic assault rifles, machine guns, shotguns, and show pistols.
Alarmingly, numerous missing weapons have appeared in street crimes. For instance, a 9mm Beretta linked to four shootings in Albany, New York, went missing from a safe located at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, 600 miles away. Perhaps more concerning, the Army didn’t realize the weapon was missing until police recovered the gun in a foot chase in June 2018.
Albany District Attorney David Soares expressed alarm over the situation. He said it raises questions regarding what else might be working its way into the community to pose a “clear and present danger” to citizens.
Maybe the federal government should spend more time trying to secure federal weapons arsenals and less time trying to create firearm restrictions on law-abiding citizens.
