Rashida Tlaib Speaks at Pro-Palestine Conference With Direct Links to Terror Organization

(RepublicanPress.org) – The US Secretary of State designates various hostile groups as foreign terrorist organizations (FTO) under section 219 of the Immigration and Nationality Act of 1952 (INA). A recent report revealed that Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) recently spoke at a pro-Palestine conference attended by two individuals with direct links to the PFLP. Tlaib is one of only three Muslim members of Congress, along with Representatives AndrĂ© Carson (D-IN) and Ilhan Omar (D-MN).

On May 25, The Detroit News reported that Tlaib delivered an address to the People’s Conference for Palestine in the city’s downtown district earlier that evening. Various groups, such as the US Palestinian Community Network and the ANSWER Coalition, meet for three days each year to support and strengthen the movement for the national liberation of Palestine.

The various organizations associated with the annual event don’t have direct ties to the State Department’s list of FTOs. However, this year’s gala included two individuals with ties to the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP).

Then-Secretary of State Madeleine Albright designated the PFLP as an FTO on October 8, 1997, alongside Hamas and other organizations hostile to the State of Israel. The European Union, Japan, and Canada all list the PFLP as a terrorist group on their respective lists.

The National Review reported that PFLP terrorist Walid Daqqah’s wife, Sana Daqqah, delivered the keynote address at the People’s Conference for Palestine. Daqqah recently died in prison for his role in an operation that involved the kidnapping, torture, and eventual murder of an Israeli soldier in 1984.

An Israeli military court sentenced Duqqah to imprisonment for life in March 1987. The tribunal convicted him of commanding the group that carried out the abduction and killing and not for murder.

The National Review also reported that pro-Palestine activist, academic, and writer Wisam Rafeedie also spoke at the conference. He penned a pro-Palestine/anti-Israel book called “The Trinity of Fundamentals” while serving a 34-month sentence in an Israeli prison for operating an underground leftist publishing house in the West Bank.

Rafeedie reportedly has direct ties to the PFLP, according to some news organizations like Breitbart News. Likewise, The Jerusalem Post reported that he’s a self-admitted member of that terrorist organization.
