Political Commentator Sued for $20 Million

(RepublicanPress.org) – Earlier this summer, conservative talk show host and political commentator Candace Owens posted a 44-minute video on Instagram attacking Kimberly Klacik, a former Republican candidate for Maryland’s 7th congressional district. Klacik has followed up with a $20 million lawsuit claiming she lost a major contract due to the post.

Owens accused Klacik of criminal conduct, including tax fraud, money laundering, and paying vendors kickbacks to “move money off the books.” She also accused the former candidate of recruiting strippers for a club she alleged Klacik’s husband owned. The commentator readily admitted she hadn’t investigated the claims, nor could she prove any of them.

Klacik’s attorney, Jacob Frenkel, accused Owens of using her massive social media platform to attack his client, “a respected Baltimore political figure.” However, they were pursuing the matter in the proper forum: the courts.

So far, the lawsuit hasn’t calmed things down. Owens recently responded to news of the lawsuit on Twitter.

Owens suggested that any donors to Klacik’s campaign should “demand answers” about how she spent their money. She went on to issue an apparent warning that time was running out for Klacik.
