Lawmakers Call On CDC to Answer for Reports of Location Tracking

CDC TRACKING Bombshell – Lawmakers Demand Answers!

( – SafeGraph is a company providing demographics and other data for people, organizations, and businesses they can then use to make decisions. Vice reported that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) used SafeGraph’s services to make sure Americans were following pandemic lockdown measures, and lawmakers wanted answers. The Daily Caller procured a letter written by Representative Jody Hice (R-GA) and signed by 39 of her colleagues demanding the CDC tell the House exactly what it did with that data.

The Letter

Referencing the Vice report and the documents requested by Motherboard, the legislators believe the CDC paid $420,000 to SafeGraph to monitor citizens of the United States to find out where they were going during the height of the pandemic. They claim the organization “trampled” on the rights of Americans by tracking their cellphone data without legal authority. Hice and others want to know why the CDC chose SafeGraph, of all companies, to allegedly supply it with such information, as it claims the company has a sketchy past.

All 40 legislators wrote that if the allegations are true, they want to know who authorized the expenditure, if Americans were notified about the tracking, and where the data is now. Given the increased occurrences of cyberhacking, safeguarding personal data is of the utmost importance to most.

In the closing of the letter, Hice asks for a “detailed report” by May 27 with an explanation of how the CDC used the information it reportedly purchased and what made it think it was okay to secretly violate millions of Americans’ right to privacy.

Detailed Accusations

Motherboard said it requested the documents from the CDC using the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and shared what they found with Vice.

Vice reported the personal data purchased by the CDC was from 2021, and the organization used it to see if Americans were compliant with such mandates as curfews and travel restrictions. The government organization allegedly wanted to know where people were going, who they were seeing, what they were doing, and if they were getting the COVID-19 vaccine.

The media outlet reported the violation affected many and may continue to affect tens of millions of private citizens in the US.

Shockingly, Vice said the CDC didn’t use the data only for pandemic purposes; the outfit made the request under the guise that it was for COVID-19 reasons just to obtain the information quickly.

Vice sent many emails to the CDC, asking for commentary, but the agency didn’t respond to the requests.
