(RepublicanPress.org) – North Korean leader Kim Jong-un continues pushing back on US-based efforts to limit his ability to wage international war. The autocratic leader recently renewed his call to increase North Korea’s military might.
On Monday, March 28, Kim Jong-un spoke about the necessity of increasing the nation’s defense capabilities after a brief photo session with a group of scientists who, according to reports, contributed to the recent test-fire of an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) capable of reaching the US, the first such test since 2017. However, South Korea claims that the supposed test of their largest ICBM yet was not entirely true, and that North Korea instead used a smaller missile in the launch.

The state-run media outlet, the Korean Central News Agency, reported that Kim told participants of the need to develop the means to defend peace and national security. He stated that building strong defense capabilities, in the truest sense of the word, means creating and maintaining powerful offensive abilities.
According to Kim, the only sure way to prevent a war is by developing formidable striking capabilities and overwhelming military strength that no other nation can stop. He concluded his remarks by vowing to redouble the national courage necessary to secure North Korea from foreign threats.
