(RepublicanPress.org) – Americans celebrated this week’s rollout of the first doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine. The US Food and Drug Administration approved an Emergency Use Authorization for it on Friday, December 11. However, Democrats and Republicans keep arguing over their competing ideas for a COVID-19 relief package.
White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany tore into House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) during an interview on Fox News’ “Outnumbered Overtime” on December 14.
Host Harris Faulkner asked McEnany what it would take to get the relief bill passed in Congress. McEnany responded that White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows told her Pelosi was more interested in protecting trial lawyers’ interests over those of the American people.
One of the bill’s key sticking points is the Republicans’ insistence any relief package include liability protections for business owners who face the growing litigation concerns over coronavirus-related deaths.
Continuing, she said the administration wanted money to go directly to the American people, adding that it’s time for Pelosi to step up and give the people those much-needed payment checks.
Now is not the time for Democrats to refuse to negotiate with relief benefits set to expire before the end of the year.
