Jen Psaki Admits Communism In Cuba Has

( – The ongoing failures of Cuba’s Communist regime coupled with recent food and COVID-19 vaccine shortages prompted the worst anti-government protests experienced on the island nation for decades. Black Lives Matter activists and Progressives like Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) blamed America’s 60-year-old Cuban trade embargo for the unrest and appeared to side with the Cuban government.

The White House press secretary just took a completely different stance on the matter.

At best, the Biden administration has sent out mixed messaging on Cuba’s current situation. It initially appeared to blame the Cuban protests on the rise in COVID-19 cases and a lack of coronavirus vaccines. However, the administration slowly started backing off on those claims.

On July 15, Fox News White House correspondent Peter Doocy asked White House press secretary Jen Psaki if the White House was willing to concede the possibility that Cubans were protesting because they were “sick of communism.” She responded that “Communism is a failed ideology.”

Continuing, Psaki admitted the Biden administration believed communism failed the Cuban people, saying they “deserve freedom” and a “government that supports them.” She also admitted that Cuba’s “authoritarian Communist regime… repressed its people,” leading to the current state of social and political unrest.

Doocy followed up by asking Psaki, “Where is Biden?… What is he doing?” Psaki responded that the president issued statements showing support for the Cuban people, and the administration was reviewing its policies.

Sadly, scores of Cubans have been taken into custody or have disappeared. What they need is action and not a promise of a policy review.
