Hunter Biden Indicted on Multiple Charges

(RepublicanPress.org) – In September, Hunter Biden was charged in Delaware for allegedly making false statements on a form while purchasing a firearm in the state in 2018. According to the indictment, Biden noted that he was not a drug user, but the state said he was an addict at the time. Attorney Abbe Lowell, Biden’s lawyer, claimed her client did not break the law. Now, a brand new indictment was filed — this time in California — waging accusations that Lowell said were only filed because he is the president’s son.

On December 7, the Department of Justice filed an indictment against Hunter Biden for nine tax-related charges. Special Counsel David Weiss submitted the filing, which stated the defendant allegedly didn’t pay his taxes from 2016 to 2019 but lived a lavish lifestyle instead. The prosecution stated that Biden used his tax money on things like “exotic cars, clothing,” “luxury hotels,” and “drugs.” Axios reported prosecutors also believe that Biden didn’t follow tax laws while withdrawing money from his company.

Biden’s attorney said if her client had any other last name, there would be no indictments in Delaware or California. NBC News previously reported that former FBI General Counsel Andrew Weissman and former federal prosecutor Renato Mariotti claimed the charges against the president’s son are rarely prosecuted and “harsh.” Lowell, meanwhile, claimed that Hunter Biden paid his back taxes in full two years ago, stating there was “no new evidence” against her client prompting the charges.

Hunter Biden previously had a plea deal that would have spared him prison time. The deal stated he would plead guilty to tax charges, and the gun charges would be dismissed. However, US District Court Judge Maryellen Noreika didn’t accept the deal, and it reportedly fell apart. After that, the defendant pleaded not guilty to the charges against him.

According to Newsmax, Biden could spend up to 17 years in jail if found guilty.
