How Amazon Supports Small Businesses

(RepublicanPress.org) – President Donald Trump has been battling it out with Amazon head Jeff Bezos for years. Bezos is the richest man in the world with a net worth of more than $200 billion — yes, that’s billion with a “b.” While most Americans were suffering the economic collapse that stemmed from the COVID-19 pandemic, Bezos’ personal wealth increased by nearly 80% in the period beginning on March 18 and ending on October 13. That’s a net gain of about $90 billion and counting this year.

He reportedly doesn’t treat his employees well, opting to turn a deaf ear in their direction when issues arise in the workplace like exposure to the COVID-19 virus. However, oddly enough, he does a lot to benefit small businesses.

For example, Amazon’s website speaks about its commitment to the success of entrepreneurs and small businesses, noting it invested more than $30 billion in logistics support for the site’s sellers from 2019 to 2020. Additionally, the site features a “Support Small – Discover Amazing” page connecting customers to small businesses.

Also, Amazon started a Small Business Awards program to celebrate small companies using its site in late 2019.

Looking at his bottom line, there’s no reason to question Bezos’ success as a businessman. It’s good to see him offering support to small businesses, particularly as the past year has been devastating on many of them.
