Fraudster Infiltrates Jen Psaki Press Briefings

( – The White House Correspondents’ Association (WHCA) handles the screening process for journalists serving in the White House press corps. Members must work for a “news-gathering organization” approved by a Congressional Standing Committee and pass a screening process. However, it appears that all that has broken down in the Biden administration.

On April 9, Politico reported that, on four occasions, press corps members relayed questions from an individual claiming to be a journalist to White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki. As it turns out, that person wasn’t a member of the media.

That individual goes by the name Kacey Montagu, claims to be 18-years-old, and doesn’t work as a reporter. Montagu set up a special email address and Twitter accounts to look like a WHCA member. She then began communicating with real members to gain their confidence and get her questions conveyed to Psaki during White House press briefings.

Montagu also filed Freedom of Information Act requests and received copies of at least two White House officials’ personal financial disclosure forms, including those of Psaki. Former Press Secretary Sean Spicer pointed out how absurd it was.

The questions now are: How did this happen? And does the administration have a plan to prevent it from happening in the future?
