Former Trump Adviser Makes Election Announcement

( – It’s not uncommon for former White House staff members to use their government service experience as a springboard for pursuing another career path. Sean Spicer went on to host a political talk show for Newsmax TV. Others, like former Trump adviser Catalina Lauf, decided to run for Congress.

Lauf announced her effort to primary never-Trumper Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-IL) for Illinois’ 16th Congressional District seat in a February 24 tweet.

A three-minute campaign video accompanies the announcement featuring Lauf laying out her case for serving in Congress. As she explains, a majority of the Republican party is united around the “America First” movement. However, she also says Kinsinger is a “weak-kneed establishment Republican” concerned more about his media image than he is about representing the people of Illinois.

One-third of his votes sided with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA). He’s one of only 10 House Republicans who voted to support Democrats’ impeachment efforts.

As Lauf noted, perhaps setting term limits to get rid of career politicians like him is a better way to save America. She believes weak Republicans aid the efforts of Democrats to turn the country into a “socialist utopia.” As she concluded, she’s here “to draw a hard line” and fight for America first.
