Federal Appeals Court Asked to Revise Position on Vaccine Mandates

Court Asked To DROP Major Ruling For Americans

(RepublicanPress.org) – The topic of COVID-based restrictions and requirements continues to drive debate within the general public, political circles, and the courts. For example, a grassroots coalition called Feds for Medical Freedom recently asked a federal appeals court to revise its earlier position on vaccine mandates.

On April 7, a three-judge panel from the US Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit reversed a lower court’s issuance of a nationwide injunction blocking the enforcement of a September 6 executive order signed by President Joe Biden requiring vaccination for all executive branch employees. The panel ruled that US District Judge Jeffrey Brown lacked proper jurisdiction to hear the case.

Then, on May 21, Feds for Medical Freedom petitioned the Fifth Circuit to vacate the panel’s April ruling and schedule hearings before the full 17-member court.

The Fifth Circuit Court gave Biden administration officials until June 2 to file a response to the petition. The April ruling doesn’t go into effect until the end of May, but it remains unknown if the full court will take any action before receiving that pleading.

Some members of the public and advocacy groups like Feds for Medical Freedom continue to push back on vaccine requirements. They argue that employers shouldn’t be allowed to fire workers due to health conditions or for making their own informed healthcare decisions.

Do you think the government should have the power to require vaccinations?
