(RepublicanPress.org) – President Joe Biden’s job approval numbers continue decreasing amid rising inflation. Democrats already face an uncertain future during the 2022 midterm elections with the Senate tied and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) holding the lower chamber’s slimmest majority in decades. Many conservatives have blamed recent inflation on Team Biden, but Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) recently placed the blame on another source.
On December 20, Warren issued a press release detailing a letter she sent to the heads of Albertsons, Kroger, and Publix accusing the grocers of blaming high food prices on inflation while taking advantage of the country’s tattered economy to rake in huge profits. The progressive lawmaker also accused the companies of granting massive bonuses to top executives and payouts to investors.

As one might expect, the online backlash to Warren’s claim was swift. For instance, Christina Pushaw, the spokesperson for Florida’s Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis, tweeted that Warren sounded like a “communist demagogue.” She also told Warren that inflation results when the Treasury Department prints too much money.
You sound like a communist demagogue. Prices rise during inflation. Inflation happens when the government prints too much money.

One Twitter user suggested Warren take time off from her busy schedule to run a grocery for a year. He pointed out that the industry maintained low profit margins and provided essential services during the height of the pandemic.
I'd like to see you run a grocery store for an entire year.
They have the slimmest margins and were essential during peak pandemic.
Grocery stores deserve every penny they make.

What about you? How are grocery prices where you live?
