(RepublicanPress.org) – On Wednesday, July 28, Republican senators voted with Democrats to advance a bipartisan infrastructure bill in the US Senate. After going back and forth over the measure for weeks, stunningly, the exact details of the measure haven’t actually been worked out yet. However, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) vowed to push for its passage before the chamber’s upcoming August recess.
Five Republican senators who sided with Democrats on the new infrastructure measure also voted to convict former President Donald Trump at the end of his February impeachment trial, including Sen. Mitt Romney (R-UT).
Trump unleashed a firestorm on the Republican senators for defecting and took special note of Romney’s betrayal. He stated that he found it incredulous the GOP saw fit to choose “SUPER RINO Mitt Romney” to deal with “radical” Democrats in the first place.

Trump also noted that the bill was “a loser for the USA” and merely served to show the overall weakness and foolishness of the Republicans who would broker such a measure. It was “dumb,” he concluded.
The bipartisan Senate bill will help pay for roads, bridges, and other critical infrastructure. Although the bill cleared its first hurdle on Wednesday, it still has a long way to go.
