(RepublicanPress.org) – Whoops! This week, an audio recording went viral of longtime California Democratic senator Dianne Feinstein spreading religious bigotry during a Senate Judiciary Committee meeting on October 15.
The committee was wrapping up the fourth day of hearings for Judge Amy Coney Barrett’s confirmation to fill Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s vacant seat on the Supreme Court when Feinstein was reportedly caught on a hot mic for all to hear.
Democrats fear the future of abortion in America with Barrett’s expected confirmation to the nation’s highest court, giving conservative justices a six to three advantage over liberals.
“She’s been pro-life for a long time,” Feinstein says in the recording, adding that her conviction must be related to “her religion.”

“no religious Test shall ever be required as a Qualification to any Office or public Trust under the United States.” #Article6 #Feinstein #AmyConeyBarrett #SCOTUS https://t.co/WdijExJNvM

Jordan Sekulow, a conservative lawyer, radio show host, and former Washington Post contributor, quickly responded, pointing out the US Constitution prohibits any religious test for individuals seeking office or public trust (organization).
As President Donald Trump’s private attorney Jay Sekulow noted in a tweet, Feinstein’s attack on Judge Barrett is news, but “it’s hardly surprising.”
