(RepublicanPress.org) – Every year, over 600,000 people go missing in the United States. The majority of missing persons are found by authorities relatively quickly. That’s what happened in Nevada recently; unfortunately, the outcome wasn’t the one police wanted.
Police alleged that 41-year-old Troy Driver kidnapped Naomi Irion, 18, from a Walmart parking lot in Fernley, Nevada, on March 12. Surveillance footage shows Driver nervously pacing outside the store before finally entering Irion’s car.
Three days later, investigators located Irion’s car a short distance away from the scene. On March 29, authorities found human remains at a gravesite in Churchill County. DNA testing proved the victim was the missing woman.
An official criminal complaint filed with the Justice Court of Canal Township contains additional details about the case. Driver stands accused of intentionally kidnapping, sexually assaulting, and/or murdering Irion. The court has scheduled a preliminary hearing on April 12.
