Failed Candidate Arrested in Murder Case

(RepublicanPress.org) – Former professional wrestler and college football player Dan Rodimer ran for Congress twice in two different states on a Republican ticket — once in Nevada and once in Texas. During his campaign in the Lone Star State, he was slammed for faking a southern accent to attract voters — he was born in New Jersey. In any case, Rodimer lost both runs. Now, he’s been arrested for murder.

On March 6, 8 NewsNow reported the 45-year-old turned himself in to authorities at the Clark County Detention Center after metro police issued a warrant for his arrest. Detectives allege that Rodimer murdered Christoper Tapp at Vegas’ Resorts World in October 2023 after he offered the former wrestler’s stepdaughter cocaine. The most notable evidence came from text messages with his wife after the incident. Police also have witnesses to the event, not only putting the would-be GOP politician at the scene but also claiming to have seen the murder.

According to reports, the text messages detail how Rodimer’s wife, Sarah Rodimer, had to physically remove her husband’s “hands…from his neck.” The communications allegedly went on to say that the former wrestler ran away and left her to try and “take care of him.” She subsequently called her husband a “psychopath” and said she “watched [him] murder somebody.” That somebody was Tapp, who was released from a 20-year stint in prison in 2019 for crimes he didn’t commit. However, his freedom would be short-lived. The New York Post stated that the coroner ruled Tapp’s death a homicide from blunt force trauma. The district attorney’s office in Clark County called the killing “willful, deliberate, and premeditated.”

Judge Eric Goodman set Rodimer’s bail to $200,000. The defendant posted the money, was released, and is due back in court on April 10. The Trump-endorsed former candidate claims his innocence. His attorneys said Rodimer plans to “vigorously contest[SIC] the allegations,” asking that the public presume he is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
