Nikki Haley Says She's "Not Going Anywhere" Following Nevada Vote

(RepublicanPress.org) – The only two Republican candidates left running for the GOP presidential nomination are former President Donald Trump and former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley. Average polling recently reported by FiveThirtyEight shows Haley trailing Trump by 58.2%. Still, the former SC governor doesn’t seem to be giving up anytime soon.

On February 6, Haley lost the primary vote in Nevada to “none of these candidates.” According to projections based on 99% of the votes, Haley earned about 30% compared 63% for “none of these candidates.” Still, Newsmax reported the former governor shrugged off the loss, headed to California, and declared she’s in the race “for the long haul.”

Haley told a crowd in Los Angeles that she’s “not going anywhere.” She reportedly didn’t mention the Nevada race during her indoor rally event. Mail-in voting is already underway in the Golden State, with the primary happening on Super Tuesday.

According to recent average polling by FiveThirtyEight, Haley was behind Trump in California by 57.8 points as of February 9. Newsmax reported that Democratic voter Steven Whiddon said he hopes Haley stays in the fight for the nomination, calling her the “sane” and “practical” choice.

Another voter, Sheldon Kay, suggested that Haley stop trying to appeal to “Trump loyalists” because her efforts are pointless and that particular voting sector isn’t listening to her anyway.

According to The New York Times, Haley accused Trump of trying to “bully” his way to become the Republican nominee so he could avoid prosecution in “all [the] court issues that he’s dealing with.”

The former SC governor said in a Los Angeles interview that Americans need to wake up and see the effort for “what it is.” Haley has been calling for a one-on-one debate with her GOP contender, but so far, he hasn’t agreed to one. Instead, he wants to jump right to debating President Joe Biden.
