Trump Co-Defendant Makes Allegations Against DA

(RepublicanPress.org) – In August 2023, former President Donald Trump and 18 other defendants were indicted on several felony charges in Georgia. One of Trump’s co-defendants was his former campaign official, Michael Roman, who recently filed a motion against Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis.

On January 8, Roman filed legal papers to dismiss the case against him as “fatally defective” and remove Willis from the case because of an alleged improper relationship with Special Prosecutor Nathan Wade — who is also working on the case against Roman.

The filing claims that Willis and Wade “engaged in an improper, clandestine personal relationship during the pendency of [the] case.” As such, Trump’s co-defendant alleges they both profited from the “prosecution at the expense of the taxpayers.”

The motion asserts that the Fulton County DA and the special prosecutor were “romantically involved” while Wade was still married and before Willis contracted his legal services. Roman’s filing states that the pair traveled to various places together, including Florida and California, and on multiple cruises.

Trump’s former campaign advisor is asking the court to dismiss all charges against him, claiming the “prosecution is invalid and unconstitutional” because Willis had no “legal authority to appoint” Wade.

Other reasons Roman used in his legal move to prove his point included claims that Willis didn’t go through the proper channels to bring him on board, Wade didn’t file the proper paperwork to work on the case, and he doesn’t have “relevant experience” to work on the matter.

According to Newsweek, the filing offered no actual evidence of a romantic relationship between the two attorneys. Still, some are calling for Willis’ arrest over the matter. A spokeswoman for Willis told the Journal-Constitution that the DA would respond to the allegations “through appropriate court filings,” according to the Journal-Constitution.
