Pelosi Weighs in, Issuing Kamala Endorsement

(RepublicanPress.org)—On July 21, at 1:46 p.m. Eastern Time, Joe Biden unexpectedly announced his decision to end his bid for a second term and “focus solely” on fulfilling his duties for the remainder of his term. Twenty-seven minutes later, he posted another statement offering his “full support and endorsement” for Kamala Harris to become the Democratic presidential nominee. Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) kept Democrats in suspense by waiting nearly 24 hours to weigh in on the president’s endorsee.

At 1:20 p.m., the next day, the former speaker posted a brief notice on her X/Twitter account endorsing Harris, along with a photograph of her standing beside the vice president. Pelosi wrote about her “immense pride and optimism” regarding the country’s future and said she had “full confidence” that Harris would lead the Democrats to “victory in November.”

Later that day, Pelosi posted a full statement regarding the changing dynamics of the upcoming presidential election. She began by praising Biden, stating that America had “been truly blessed” by his leadership and wisdom.

With “love and gratitude,” she saluted the president for “believing” in the nation’s “possibilities” and giving the American people the opportunity to fulfill their potential. Pelosi concluded that portion of her remarks by calling Biden one of the country’s “most consequential presidents” and stating that he stood on the “right side of history” and “the future.”

The former speaker said she had observed Harris’ courage and strength as a champion for working families and women’s right to choose. On the personal side, Pelosi said she has known Harris for decades and knew her to be “rooted in strong values [and] faith” with an unflinching “commitment to public service.”

Politically speaking, the California representative said the vice president was “brilliantly astute” as a politician restated her belief that Harris would emerge triumphant in November.

As one might expect, Republicans have a completely different take on Harris’ potential to lead the country over the next four years. Time will tell how the rest of the campaign may play out, but it might not be a bad idea for everyone to fasten their seatbelts.
